‘Love & Friendship’ at World Famous LGBTQ+ Music, Arts & Matchmaking Festival ‘The Outing’ returns in 2023 for 3 Days over Valentine’s weekend 10th, 11th & 12th February. Now in its 10th year, the ever fast growing offshoot of the historical Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival is back and bigger than ever. With Irish and International stars, LGBT+ singer-songwriters to pop-up clubs, drag performances, comedy, live music, Film & Arts Festival and interactive events, it is a guaranteed craic-filled weekend away on Ireland’s stunning west coast.
Eddie McGuinness, Queen of Matchmaking at The Outing Festival and host of Blind Date & Festival ‘’Ireland AM Host’’ Paul Ryder will take you through a weekend not to forget!… Let’s have some fun and maybe even find Love too.

Festival Structure and General Information
Who is this festival for?
Everyone! We’re welcoming singles, couples and groups of friends – Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Straight and all their friends – to The Outing Festival LGBT+ Music & Matchmaking Festival for this fun-filled weekend. There’s no restriction (other than being over 18 years of age) on this inclusive and entertaining weekend. Yes, there is matchmaking, blind dates and speed dating aspects for singles, but these are just one facet of the weekend and you’ll find plenty to see and do even if you’re already in a relationship, or not looking for one. We’d be delighted to see you there and to share this experience with you and your friends, whoever you are!
What Do I Need To Bring?
Your best dancing shoes and outfits for the dance floor, your casual wear for day time, external activities may require additional clothing (so please see individual websites for advice on appropriate attire for activities). And don’t forget to bring an open mind, some wit & charm and a smile!
What Are The Festival Times?
The Inn at Dromoland opens from 4pm on Friday 10th February 2023, you will be able to check in to the hotel and collect tickets at any time there. We hope to finish on Sunday night/morning around 1am, with check out for hotel guests on Sunday or Monday depending if you are staying 2/3 day festival weekend.
Can I Stay At The Hotel For Extra Nights?
Yes, you can of course. For any additional nights before or after the festival, please contact the hotel directly or book the hotel online as normal.
I'm Going On My Own, Will I Meet Other People?
Don’t worry, you definitely won’t be the only gay/queer in the village, and certainly not the only single one! We’ve put a great deal of thought into activities that help people mingle and make new friends, and of course new relationships! There are plenty of icebreaker and matchmaking events and the crowd will be a diverse fun group where you’ll fit right in and enjoy yourself thoroughly!
Tickets and Entry
I’m from the area or I’m travelling for the events. Do you sell entertainment tickets only?
Yes! These go on Sale Now and entitle holders to access all of the entertainment events of the weekend. Three types will be available; a 1-day pass Friday or Saturday Pass and a weekend pass.
I'm from the area or travelling for some of the events. Do you sell entertainment(non-accomodation) tickets?
Do you do group Discounts ?
Yes! If you’re booking with friends, you can avail of a 10% discount on groups of 10+ people. We want to be able to accommodate your group’s needs in the best way possible, so contact us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help!
What do I need to bring to get in?
A printed copy of your booking confirmation, or your confirmation ID will need to be supplied on entry to the Festival/Hotel, along with a photo id for check-in. You’ll then be supplied with a wrist-band which will allow you entry to events throughout the weekend.
What happens if I lose my wristband at the festival?
Naughty you, just report back to The Outing’s on-site Office near hotel reception and we will see what we can do for you
Is the event 18+?
Yes, and you may be requested to present photo ID to prove you are over 18.
I can't go anymore, can I sell my tickets?
You will be missing out! However, you may ask The Outing staff to resell your ticket(s) for the festival. We cannot guarantee a resale and we reserve the right to sell remaining tickets before returned tickets. This service is charged at €40.00 per resold ticket. Contact [email protected]
Local Information
Are there cash machines in the area?
There isn’t ATMs in Dromoland! But all cards are expected in bar, restaurant and hotel
What is there to do in Dromoland?
There are plenty of activities to add to the entertainment on offer and you can review the excellent deals and discounts available to you as a guest of The Outing by visiting our Local Activities page.
Travelling To Dromoland
What is the nearest airport to the festival?
We would advise foreign travellers to travel to Shannon Airport only 15/20 min down the road. Alternatively, you can fly to Dublin Airport and avail of the Train transfer.
How do I get to the festival?

Where do I park my car?
Yes, our hotels have ample car parking.
Health and Safety
What is the policy on Drugs?
No illegal substances should be taken into the festival under any circumstances
Can I smoke at the Outing?
In keeping with the law of Ireland, smoking is prohibited within the hotel and within the bedrooms. However, designated areas are available for smokers.
What happens if I injure myself?
Please notify a member of The Outing team or notify the Hotel’s receptions, and we’ll arrange for first aid to come to you.
I need to use the facilities for the disabled or have special requiremnt during my stay. Whom should I need to inform about this?
If booking a hotel and weekend package, please let us know the detail of any requirements you have. Or you email [email protected] and let us know what you require. We will do our best to cater for your needs.
Will Food and Drinks be provided at the Festival?
If you’ve booked a weekend ticket, then your stay includes breakfast. Some events have complimentary food or beverages, the hotels have excellent restaurants, and there are plenty of local shops and restaurants for your own dining.
